Child Watch/Playroom (ages 3 mo – 11 yrs)
The Playroom is open:
– Monday through Friday mornings from 8:30 — 12:00 PM
*Saturday mornings from 8:30 – 12:30 PM
– Monday through Thursday evenings 4:30 — 7:30pm.
The ages are 3 Months old through 11 Years old.
Parent/Guardian will be required to come into the playroom and sign their child(ren) in and out of care. If a playroom staff person needs to have a child picked up for any reason during their time, the parent will be contacted.

Afterschool Adventure Club and Afterschool at Clymore are DSS subsidy approved.
Afterschool Adventure Club (Grades K-5)
We serve students from McSwain, Bessie Weller, and A.R. Ware Elementary Schools. We offer a warm, caring environment where our children have the opportunity to play with school friends and make new ones. This state-licensed program is directed by an experienced leadership team offering homework assistance, healthy snacks, sports (inside and outdoor), arts and crafts, games, and swimming. Space is limited. Registration is ongoing as space allows. Staunton City Schools provide transportation at dismissal.

MIDDLE and HIGH SCHOOL
Teen Center (Ages 12-17)
Community Youth can experience a safe and fun environment under the care of Teen Center Supervisor Eddie Santiago and his youth development staff. The renovated Teen Center is equipped with a game room, a lounge area and a homework area. Optional programs offered for teens as well. For middle school and high school students. Middle School Mayhem (Grades 6-8)
This event is for middle school students to be kids, have fun with their friends and make new ones in a fun and safe place. Middle School Mayhem features basketball games, dodgeball, music, a game area, swimming and more. Parents must pick up kids by 9:45 pm. The price includes pizza and drinks. SAW Tutoring Network
Free K-12 In-Person and Virtual Tutoring
The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Tutoring Network offers academic support through free group tutoring sessions, thanks to volunteer tutors from the community. Tutoring will be provided in-person or remotely (through online platforms, hosted and monitored through the Staunton-Augusta YMCA). Tutoring sessions are available Monday – Thursday weekly and enrichment curriculum will be available on select Fridays.

Volunteer Corps
Are you tired of your children being a permanent arm’s length away from their phones or hibernating indoors glued to their TV? Do you want them to learn how to make a difference in their community while boosting their resume for college?
Youth Volunteer Corps is a network of affiliates hosted by non-profit organizations, schools or individuals that offer youth ages 11-18 the opportunity to serve their community.

YOUTH BOXING PROGRAM
What do you fight for?
Join us for the Youth Boxing Program October 13th – November 17th. Come prepared to run, jump, and box your way to better physical and mental health. We will learn basic boxing moves combined with cardiovascular and endurance training, building on skill as the weeks progress.

LITTLE KICKERS
Introduction to the fundamental elements of soccer. Coached by local high school coaches and their players, Little Kickers will assist your child with developing the most basic skills used in soccer to prepare them for a more competitive league in the future. Players will receive individualized coaching based on their level of play, and grouped with other children who perform on a similar level.

YOUTH TENNIS
We welcome Chris Stambaugh as our new YMCA Tennis Pro. Chris Stambaugh is a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia and has been teaching tennis for over 30 years. He is the current men’s and women’s tennis coach at Mary Baldwin University here in Staunton and has been in that position since 2018. Stambaugh also is the vice president for the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County Tennis Association (SWAT). Prior to MBU, Stambaugh coached at Chowan University (NC), Tiffin University (OH) and at his alma mater Shepherd University (WV). As a coach, Stambaugh’s teams have won a total of 12 conference championships and made one national Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2017. As a player, Stambaugh’s team won a conference title as a member of Shepherd in 1988. Chris resides in Staunton with his wife Holly and their two daughters, Samantha and Milena.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Due to staffing, our Girls Volleyball dates are currently TBD.
Ages 9-12
This is a developmental program designed to help young athletes learn and improve on the fundamentals of the sport. The program includes one weekly practice on Tuesday or Wednesday and a game on Thursday. The practices are dedicated to helping players improve their individual skill sets. The games are intended to help players practice sportsmanship and learn in-game strategy. Interested players ages 13 and older may email volleyball coordinator Priscilla Jenkins (priscilla@saymca.org) to request an exemption. Families will be notified one week prior to season start about practice day and time.
We are also seeking experienced adult volleyball players to help teach the younger players.
